St. Patrick's Day Treat Jar

St. Patrick's Day Treat Jar

I think it is fun to do creative little gifts for holidays-even for the smaller ones like St. Patrick's Day. I mean, who wouldn't want a jar full of candy any day of the week, but color it green and make it all cute and you've got something great. I created this very easy St. Patrick's Day jar with a cute tag that you can give to a good friend to celebrate.

Items needed :

  • Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint 8oz - New Life
  • Mason jar
  • Shamrock stencil
  • Gold wrapped candy
  • Gold ribbon

Instructions :

I cut out a shamrock out of peel and stick vinyl and stuck it on my mason jar.

Then I painted a coat of the chalky finish paint over the whole jar. I let that dry and then gave it a second coat.

Then I peeled the shamrock off and that left a little shamrock shaped window. Fill that jar with candy, add some gold ribbon at the top and you've got something cute!

I have a free printable tag available for you today over at Crazy Little Projects too if you want to add that! It says "A Friend is a Treasure More Precious Than Gold." Come grab the tag and make up this cute St. Patrick's day gift!

Hi! I love the idea of using chalk paint. Can you use it to give old doors an antique look or would paint work best? I'm going to use them at my wdiedng reception and want them to look sort of cream and distressed. Any tips would be much appreciated! Thanks,Lauren

Hi. I am having a hard time finding this color. I drove to Home Depot to find this color "New Life" and I was told they don't make it. I checked online and they have a color sample but does not look anything like this color. Did you blend this color with white?
