  • Brushes by Loew-Cornell-Series 7050, Script Liner #0;7300 Flat, Shaders #8, and #14; 7550 #3/4" DM Stippler #1/4 and #1/2
  • Painting Supplies-Paper towels, palette or plastic plate, water container
  • Other Materials & Supplies-Burgundy silk rosebud, fine sandpaper, 18-gauge wire, grey graphite paper, hot melt glue gun, kneaded eraser, 3M Scrubbie, raffia (burgundy, natural and navy blue), 2 small eye screws, stylus, tack rag, tracing paper, white lace

  •     Instructions
    Preparation
    1. Sand wood; wipe with tack rag.

    2. Apply Wood Sealer. Let dry.

    3. Sand again lightly and wipe with tack rag. Apply a wash of Light Buttermilk to the entire piece.

    4. When dry, lightly buff with 3M Scrubbie.

    5. Transfer pattern.

    Painting Instructions
    1. Basecoat bunny with Cashmere Beige. Shade with Sable Brown.

    2. Using DM Stippler, stipple Titanium White on to create fur. Basecoat nose and inside of mouth with Gooseberry Pink. Shade with Deep Burgundy. Highlight with white.

    3. Basecoat whites of eyes with white. Basecoat irises of eyes with Williamsburg Blue. Shade with black and highlight with white. Add a tiny white dot to the lower left corner on each eye. Liner a tiny star in the upper left corner of each eye. Add a tiny white dot to the center of each star.

    4. Lightly moisten the cheek area with Brush `N Blend. Using the DM Stippler, stipple the cheeks with Gooseberry Pink. Shade inside of ears with Gooseberry Pink. Liner the eyes, eyelashes and line below nose with
    black.

    5. Basecoat dress with a wash of Deep Burgundy. Shade with Rookwood Red.

    6. Paint white sections of the checkerboard trim on the dress with a wash of Light Buttermilk and do liner stitching with black. Use liner brush to "squiggle" lines on neckline and cuffs with Deep Burgundy. Add tiny dots of Deep Burgundy to the "squiggle" lines.

    7. Liner the stripes on the dress with Light Buttermilk. The centers of the "dot flowers" are Deep Burgundy, the petal dots are white, and the leaves are Forest Green.

    8. Basecoat bow and socks with a wash of Uniform Blue. Shade with Deep Midnight Blue. Highlight with Blue Chiffon. Liner the stars on the bow and the socks with white. Add a tiny dot of white to each star.

    9. Highlight the lace trim on the socks with Light Buttermilk. The "dot flower" centers on the lace trim are dots of Deep Burgundy. The petals are dots of white. Liner the top of the socks with black. Add dots of white to the top of the socks.

    10. Basecoat shoes with black. Highlight with Williamsburg Blue. Basecoat hearts on the shoes with Gooseberry Pink. Shade with Deep Burgundy. Highlight with Light Buttermilk. Add tiny dots of white. Leaves next to the hearts are Forest Green. Dots above hearts are Williamsburg Blue.

    11. Basecoat flower pot and hearts in the flower pot with a wash of Gooseberry Pink. Shade with Deep Burgundy. Outliner the flower pot and the hearts with black. Basecoat leaves with a wash of Green Mist. Shade with Forest Green. Outline the leaves and stems with Forest Green. The stitching around the outer edge of the heart cut-out is done with Williamsburg Blue. The dots above the hearts and on the flower pot are white. The dots among the leaves are Williamsburg Blue.

    Finishing Instructions
    1. Erase any remaining graphite lines.

    2. Apply 2 coats of Satin Varnish. Buff with 3M Scrubbie between coats of varnish. Be sure each coat is thoroughly dry before buffing.

    3. Using a couple of strands of each of the 3 colors of raffia, make a bow. Hot glue it to the bunny's head. Make a bow out of the white lace and hot glue it onto the raffia bow. Hot glue the rosebud to the bow.

    4. Cut two 6" pieces of 18-gauge wire. Wrap them around a pencil until they are all wound. Remove from pencil. Stretch the coiled wire out a little. Insert one end of each piece through the holes in the heart cut-out.

    5. Screw the eye screws into the bunny's hands. Insert the other ends of the wire into the eye screws. Take 2 single strands of burgundy raffia and make 2 tiny bows. Tie them to the eye screws.
