Brushes by Royal Langnickel Aqualon -#2585 Script #1; #2150 Flat Shaders #4, #6 & #8; #2950 Oval Wash 1"; #1111 Stencil 1/2"
Supplies - Brush basin, palette, paper towels, old toothbrush, tracing & transfer paper, pencil, stylus, scotch tape, scissors

2 Galvanized Pails, 11-1/4" & 7" in diameter
|
PREPARATION
1. Clean both pails with 1:1 mix of vinegar and water.
2. Basecoat each pail with two coats of Deep Blue, allowing to dry between coats.
3. Transfer snowball pattern to large pail and four snowmen to small pail.
PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS
Small Pail
1. Use 1" oval brush to basecoat snowmen Ivory.
2. Dry-brush cheeks with Bing Cherry.
3. With Coal Black, do linework on cheeks with script brush and dot eyes and mouth using wood end of brush.
4. Paint noses with Sedona Clay and script brush.
5. Use #4 flat shader and Heritage Blue to add scarf, earmuffs and skirt. Paint hat Bing Cherry.
6. With script brush, stripe scarf with Bing Cherry and Ivory, and skirt with Bing Cherry.
7. With script brush, paint hearts with Bing Cherry and stars with Bright Yellow. Add Ivory stripes to large heart.
8. Shade all snowmen with Coal Black and #6 flat brush.
9. Paint arms Espresso Bean; shade with Ivory.
10. Use Coal Black and script brush to do outlining.
11. Transfer letter pattern and paint with Ivory, using script brush.
12. Spatter pail with Ivory, using an old toothbrush.
13. Brush on Espresso Bean, wiping back for an antique look.
Large Pail
1. Dry-brush cheeks with Bing Cherry. Add Ivory stripes and Coal Black lines with script brush.
2. Dot eyes, using wood end of paint brush and Coal Black. Also use Coal Black and 1/2" stencil brush to create mouth.
3. Shade nose and snowball with #8 shader and Coal Black.
4. Transfer lettering and paint Ivory with script brush. Add dots to letters with wood end of brush.
5. Transfer snowflake patterns; paint Ivory with script brush and dot ends with wood end of brush.
6. Brush on Espresso Bean, wiping back for an antique look.
