    PREPARATION
    1. Seal wood.

    2. Trace and transfer the horizon line and bottom of boat pattern on center panel.

    PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS
    1. With 3/4" brush, basecoat top half of center panel board with Mississippi Mud. Basecoat bottom of board with Deep Midnight Blue. Basecoat frame and pegs with Williamsburg Blue.

    2. Brush on Weathered Wood. Use 3/4" brush and try to coat with one stroke. Only put enough Weathered Wood to cover board evenly. Allow to dry according to label instructions.

    3. When completely dry, transfer pattern for ship only (not sails).

    4. With small, soft mop brush, dab Raw Sienna in boat area.

    5. With large, soft mop brush, dab Light Buttermilk on top of board. Let dry. (It will crackle as it dries.)

    6. When dry, transfer detailed pattern.

    7. With thin wash of color, basecoat in ship sails with Raw Sienna.

    8. With #14 brush, basecoat sail masts and shade sails with Dark Chocolate. Use liner to paint edges of sails, all masts lines and ladders with Dark Chocolate. Use #14 to shade sail masts with Soft Black.

    9. With #2 liner, paint rub rail on ship with Honey Brown. Shade above and below rail with Dark Chocolate. When dry, darken shading slightly with Soft Black, using #14 brush.

    10. With #14 brush, shade bottom of ship with Dark Chocolate. Deepen shading with Soft Black.

    11. Use liner to paint edge of ship with Dark Chocolate.

    12. With #14, basecoat flags at top of sails and red areas on rear flag with Santa Red.

    13. With #14, fill in the blue area off rear flag with wash of Deep Midnight Blue and shade all flags with Dark Chocolate. Deepen shading with touch of Soft Black.

    14. Use liner to line flags with Dark Chocolate. Float some shading behind waves (water side up) with Deep Midnight Blue.

    15. Highlight waves using old flared brush. Load only half of brush with Light Buttermilk. With paint to top of waves, dab in white caps.

    16. With #14, float some clouds in the sky (water side up) with thinned Deep Midnight Blue.

    17. Float shading in corner of sky (water side to the center of the board) with thinned Deep Midnight Blue.

    18. Texture frame using crumpled plastic wrap. Stipple plastic wrap into Deep Midnight Blue and stipple at random on frame and pegs.

    19. When dry, sand lightly with extra fine sandpaper.

    20. Transfer anchor pattern to top of frame. With #4 brush, basecoat anchor with Raw Sienna, crossbar with Santa Red and rope with Honey Brown.

    21. With #14 brush, shade anchor with Dark Chocolate. Dab a little Dark Chocolate here and there on the anchor to make it look rusty. Deepen shading with Soft Black. Use liner to paint the anchor with Dark Chocolate.

    22. Make highlight lines on rope with liner brush. Highlight with Honey Brown with a touch of Light Buttermilk. Outline the shading as you did the highlight with Dark Chocolate.

    23. Use #14 to float shading on rope where it goes under anchor with Dark Chocolate. Deepen shading if necessary with Soft Black plus a touch of Dark Chocolate.

FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS - Spray pieces with two coats Americana Matte Spray.
