    Product Note
Patio Paint is a self-sealing interior/exterior paint. No prior preparation is needed when working on wood. For other surfaces, follow directions on label. Patio Paint may be used on all porous surfaces such as concrete, terra cotta, wood, plaster, etc. Because of the self-sealing agents, the paint does not require a varnish.

    Transferring Patterns
Lay tracing paper over pattern and draw the basic lines. Lay this tracing on the surface to be painted. Slip graphite paper between the tracing and the surface and secure. Trace with a pencil or stylus to transfer the design. Do not trace details until after basecoating has dried.

    Painting Instructions
    6" Pot
    1. Sponge with Pot O' Gold and Wrought Iron Black. Let dry completely.

    2. Tape off 1/2" stripe on rim and sponge open area with Pot O' Gold. Remove tape.

    8" Pot

    3. Tape off 3/4" stripe on rim. Paint open area Pot O' Gold. Remove tape. Let dry.

    4. Trace and transfer dragonfly pattern onto compressed sponge. Cut out with scissors. Immerse sponge shape in water and press between paper towels until sponge is slightly damp.

    5. Pour puddle of Pot O' Gold onto palette. Dip sponge shape into paint and dab on palette a few times. Place dragonfly sponge shape on pot, press gently and remove. Repeat randomly over pot surface.

    Techniques
*Spatter: Thin to consistency of heavy cream. Dip an old toothbrush in color. Drag thumbnail through bristles. A fan brush with stiff bristles also works well.
