  • Misc - black macrame cord; natural jute string; natural raffia; blue silk rosebud; 2 yellow 3/8" buttons; 5 red 1/4" buttons; 3 bells; hot glue gun & glue
  • Brushes by Loew-Cornell - 7300 Shader #6, #10; 7550 Wash 3/4"; 7050 Script Liner #0; DM Stippler #1/4;
  • Supplies - tracing paper and black graphite paper; pencil; silicone glue
  • 4" terra cotta pot; 3 small wooden birdhouses

  •     Instructions
    1. Paint pot Cloud White with Deep Waterfall Blue rim. Let dry.

    2. Transfer pattern

    3. Paint cat concrete Grey and shade with Black. Paint details with Black. Float* a little Foxglove Pink inside cat's ears and on his nose and cheeks. Paint tongue Patio Brick. Dot cat's eyes Black with brush handle; when dry, dot with White. Ribbon: Deep Waterfall Blue.

    4. Flower petals are Foxglove Pink. Outline outer edge of petals with a mix of Foxglove Pink + White. Dot between petals with Patio Brick.

    5. Leaves are Lt. Eucalyptus Green thinned with a little Clear Coat. Shade leaves at bottom with Sprout Green. Paint leaf details with Black. Paint stems Lt. Eucalyptus Green.

    6. Stipple* grassy area with Sprout Green, using the Stippler brush. with Lt. Eucalyptus Green, stipple sparingly over Sprout Green. The "scribble" grass is done with Black. Add Foxglove Pink dots and Deep Waterfall Blue dots to grassy area.

    7. "Birdies Welcome" is done with White, as are dots on letters.

    8. Birdhouses: Tall thin birdhouse: Deep Waterfall Blue. Roof is Foxglove Pink. The flower center is a dot of Pinecone Brown. Petals are dots of White. Leaves are Lt. Eucalyptus Green.

    9. The round house is White with Deep Waterfall Blue roof. Dot flower centers are Pinecone Brown with petals of Foxglove Pink and Lt. Eucalyptus Green leaves.

    10. The short house is Foxglove Pink with white roof. Dot flower is same as on the tall house.

    11. When all pieces are dry, use 3/4" brush to apply 2 coats of Clear Coat. (Allow first coat to dry before applying second.)

    To Assemble:
    Loop a piece of macrame cord through the hole in the clay pot and tie a knot. Attach bells to birdhouses with jute and glue. Glue three pieces of jute to birdhouse roofs and tie to a long center piece. Tie long center piece to macrame cord knot. Push macrame cord loop up through the hole in the clay pot and hot glue in place. Make raffia bow and glue next to loop. Glue rosebud to raffia bow and buttons to flower centers, etc.
