Product Note Americana Acrylics are artist-quality, water-based, non-toxic paints. They are intermixable and suitable for almost any surface. They are creamy to facilitate smooth and easy brush strokes, and highly pigmented for richer color and one-stroke coverage. The wide range of colors makes color coordination easy: It reduces the waste of mixing to get the perfect hue. Transferring Patterns Lay tracing paper over pattern and draw the basic lines. Lay this tracing on the surface to be painted. Slip graphite paper between the tracing and the surface and secure. Trace with a pencil to transfer the design. Do not trace details until after basecoating has dried. Preparation Clean all candles with rubbing alcohol and dry. Painting Instructions Note: When painting candles, mix all paint colors 1:1 with Candle Painting Medium. Basecoat all candles and spools with Desert Turquoise; add stripes with 1:1 mix of Titanium White and Desert Turquoise, referring to photo. Votives Make Titanium White dots and swirls and Pineapple stripes as shown in photo. Square Candle 1. Paint large flowers Orchid, small flowers Pineapple and leaves Bright Green. 2. Outline all with Titanium White. Pillar Candle 1. Paint flower Orchid and leaves Bright Green; highlight left side with Titanium White. 2. Add wavy Pineapple lines as shown in photo. Spools 1. Make stripes of Pineapple, Orchid, Bright Green and White to create plaid. 2. Paint circles Titanium White. Terra Cotta Tray Paint tray Baby Pink with wavy Titanium White line and dots. Finishing Instructions Glue 3 spools together with circles on either end to form one candle holder. Glue 2 spools together with circles on either end to form the other holder. PSSP01 |
