6. Use Charcoal Grey to shade face.
7. Use Blush Flesh to deepen shadows on cheeks, sides and bottom of nose, and top and bottom of lip.
8. Highlight eyes and palette with White.

Preparation Snowman Gourd
1. Tape hat brim on felt and cut out. Place it on a slick surface and paint both sides Black. Remove from surface before completely dry - prevents sticking. Paint a strip for top of hat.
2. Form nose from Orange Fimo clay. Roll a small cylinder, taper one end to a point, make creases with thumbnail to create the appearance of a carrot. You may apply some antiquing to it for a more authentic look. Let dry, or dry in an oven.
Painting Instructions:
1. Basecoat entire piece with Uniform Blue.
2. With moist sea sponge, lightly apply White with a twisting motion - do not cover all of basecoat.
3. Transfer pattern for face, vest, gloves, and arms.
4. Base vest Black Forest Green, face White, and gloves Sable Brown.
5. Transfer detail pattern for vest.
6. Draw vertical and horizontal lines on vest with a chalk pencil.
7. Transfer pattern for face, arms, broom, and sign.
8. With liner brush and thinned Black, paint outlines of eyes, mouth and coal. Fill in iris of eyes and pull out eyelashes. Paint hat top on gourd.
9. Sideload brush with Uniform Blue to shade eyes, head, arms, and area next to vest.
10. Paint star highlight on eye with liner brush and thinned White.
11. Brush mix Blush Flesh and White, tap off excess on paper towel, and stipple on cheeks - for smoother look, use a circular motion.
12. Paint red stripes on vest with liner brush and thinned Santa Red. Paint gold stripes with thinned Glorious Gold.
13. With Raw Sienna, base broom stick and sign pole.
14. Use liner and Golden Straw to base broom straws.
15. Base sign with Light Buttermilk.
16. Sideload brush with Dark Chocolate to shade broom stick, sign pole, sign, gloves, and broom straws.
17. Sideload and shade vest Black Forest Green. Sideload and highlight vest with Dark Pine.
