PREPARATION - Clean pieces with vinegar according to label instructions. PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS SCARECROW 1. Trace and transfer pattern on large can. Paint as follows: Hat and stick - Espresso Bean; head - Ivory; shirt - Bright Yellow; pumpkins - Bright Orange; hay bale - 4:1 mix of Bright Yellow and Espresso Bean. 2. Use dampened 3/4" compressed sponge dipped in Bright Orange and Bright Yellow to apply three rows of checks around top. 3. Use #8 flat brush to paint strip under checks and pumpkin stems True Green. 4. Use #4 flat brush to paint Bright Blue checks on shirt. 5. Double load #8 flat brush with Bright Yellow and Bright Orange to paint pumpkin sections. 6. Retrace face. Use Coal Black and Bright White for eyes and Real Red for nose. Use liner to paint mouth and wrinkles under mouth with Coal Black. 7. Mix small amount of Bright Orange with Espresso Bean and use #8 flat brush to highlight hat, hat brim and stick. 8. Use liner to pull Bright Yellow, Espresso Bean and Ivory lines from hat and arms to resemble straw. 9. Crosshatch Bright Yellow and Espresso Bean on hay bale with rake brush. 10. Use #8 flat brush to paint two Real Red patches and one True Green patch on shirt and paint three white buttons. 11. Use liner to outline all with black and pull True Green and Bright Yellow grass from bottom. Highlight hat with ivory. Add details to patches. 12. Mix small amount of Real Red and white to make pink. Use dry brush to pounce cheeks. PUMPKIN PAIL 1. Trace and transfer pattern for pumpkin from scarecrow design,. 2. Paint pumpkins Bright Orange. Highlight with Bright Yellow. 3. Paint stems True Green. 4. Use #4 flat brush to paint Hunter Green stripes around top band. Paint band under stripes and bottom rim Bright Yellow. 5. Paint top rim Bright Orange and handles True Green. Paint Hunter Green stripes around bottom yellow rim. 6. Use liner to outline all and make tendrils with Coal Black. CORN SHOCK 1. Trace and transfer corn shock design and pumpkins from scarecrow design. 2. Paint top band with Hunter Green. 3. Use 3/8" compressed sponge to apply Bright Yellow checks around band. 4. Use liner to paint Bright Orange stripes under checks and a narrow Hunter Green line under stripes. 5. Use 4:1 mix of Bright Yellow and Espresso Bean to paint corn stalks. Use liner to shade and highlight with Espresso Bean, Coal Black and Bright Yellow lines. 6. Paint corn Bright Yellow and husks with yellow/brown mix. 7. Paint pumpkins Bright Orange. Highlight with Bright Yellow. Paint stems and tendrils True Green. 8. Use liner to outline all with black. LP29 |
