Fabric Preparation
Pre-wash. Do not use any fabric softeners or dryer sheets. Secure shirt over a shirt board or cardboard using pins or tape to hold fabric taut.
Transfer Pattern: Trace pattern onto tracing paper using a black permanent marker. Trace pattern lines on reverse side of paper with chalk or a chalk pencil. Secure the chalk design with pins or masking tape next to the fabric. Rub over the lines with a coin or credit card. and pattern should be transferred to fabric.
Painting Instructions
1. Paint the basket in antique Gold. White still wet, work shadows and weave in with Dark chocolate. Work highlights in with White plus a touch of Cadmium Yellow.
2. Paint the yellow egg in a mix of 2 parts White to 1 part Cadmium Yellow. Stripe with christmas Green. Float* shadow with Antique Gold and highlight with White.
3. Paint Lavender egg. Dot with White. Float shadow with Dioxazine Purple and highlight with White.
4. Paint Mauve egg. Stripe with williamsburg Blue. Float shadow with Burgundy Wine and highlight with Baby Pink.
5. Paint the bunny White. Work in the shadows while still wet with a mix of 1 part White to 1 part Black. Do cheeks and inside of ears with Mauve.
6. Stroke daisies in Peaches 'n Cream, Baby Blue and Orchid. Stipple center with Dark Chocolate tipped in Cadmium Yellow.
7. Stroke leaves in Christmas Green. Do outlining and details with Black.
Finishing Instructions
Remove shirt board and allow shirt to dry for at least 24 hours before wearing. Wait an additional 48 hours before washing. Hand wash and hang to dry.
Hint: When doing flat pieces (tablecloths, napkins, etc.), you may want to iron a piece of freezer paper to the back to stabilize the fabric. Freezer paper is also waterproof, so your colors won't bleed through.
