    Preparation
Remove any dust or debris from the surface before painting.
Add an equal amount of Pearlizing Medium to each puddle of color on the palette, unless otherwise noted.

    Painting Instructions
    1.
Paint the inset on each side of the vase with Uniform Blue. Mix Pearlizing Medium and Uniform Blue 3:1 to paint the remainder of the vase.

    2.
Transfer the floral pattern centrally on the inset.

    3.
Use the #2 liner and Midnight Blue to create stroke work. Accent each stroke with a smaller stroke of Pearlizing Medium.

    4.
Paint the leaves by double loading* the
#3 round brush with Plantation Pine and Warm White.
Highlight with Bright Yellow. Use the liner brush to paint the stems and vines using the same colors.

    5.
To paint the rose, double load the #6 flat brush with Vivid Violet and Soft Lilac.
Blend the colors on the palette.
Start with the petals farthest away and work forward.
Use the #2 liner to add Warm White highlights.

    6.
Paint the roses with the #6 flat brush double loaded with Vivid Violet and Soft Lilac. When holding the brush, keep the lightest side pointed away from the flower's center. Begin with petals in the background and build toward the foreground.

    7.
Paint the globe thistle by double loading the liner brush with Uniform Blue and Wild Orchid.
Pull short strokes from the outside in toward the center.
Highlight with short strokes of Soft Lilac and Warm White.

    8.
Paint the echinacea by loading the #3 round brush with Canyon Orange and Vivid Violet.
Add a stroke of Warm White to highlight.
Paint the centers Bright Yellow, shaded with Wild Orchid and highlighted with Warm White.

    9.
Paint the buds in the top left corner Canyon Orange, hi-lighted with Warm White and shaded with Vivid Violet using a dabbing motion with the #2 liner brush.

    10.
Accent each of the flowers and leaves with small strokes of Pearlizing Medium as shown in photo.

    11.
Use Triple Thick Gloss Spray to seal the entire piece for a long lasting finish.
