Chalkboard Pumpkin Napkin Rings

I love the Thanksgiving holiday! I have so much to be thankful this holiday season, and I just wanted to create a craft that could capture all the special people in my life that I am thankful for. These rustic, yet cute, pumpkin napkin rings are perfect for that! And they will look so pretty on our Thanksgiving table.
Items needed:
- Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint 2oz - Heritage
- DecoArt Glass Paint Markers - White
- Small wood slice - about 3" in diameter
- Paint brush
- Brown foam sheet
- Scissors
- Hot glue and glue gun
- Twine
Instructions:
I started with small wood slices that I found at my local craft store in the wood aisle. Then I painted one side of the wood pieces with Chalky Finish paint in Heritage orange—the perfect pumpkin color. One really cool thing about chalky finish paint is that you can make an instant chalkboard surface with it.

After the paint was dry on the front side of my wood circle, I glued a small rectangle that I cut out of brown foam (approximately 1” x ½”) and a length of twine that I shaped into a circle on the back side with my glue gun.

My final step was to add a little personalization on the front of my pumpkin with a white glass paint marker. Even though I wasn’t drawing on glass, it worked perfectly on my chalky finish surface. I wrote “Thanks to:” and added little dots and decorations as well.

Then they are ready to slide onto napkins and customize with a chalk message. I’m so thankful for my daughter, Maggie, and my niece, Miranda.

These make such a great addition to any Fall table décor!
