Description

Metallic Lustre -

Metallic Lustre is a water-based metallic wax that buffs to a brilliant shine. It features highly concentrated pigments and boasts an opaque coverage with only one coat. Metallic Lustre adheres to most absorbent surfaces, as well as metal. Because Metallic Lustre is a paste, it allows for more control during application than liquid paint.

Water based acrylic paint. Not outdoor approved. Artist Tested Approved Surfaces: canvas, wood, MDF board, terra cotta, styrofoam, walls, unglazed ceramics. Finish: Metallic. Not bakeable for a dishwasher safe finish.
Directions: Apply to surface with soft cloth or sponge. Buff to a brilliant sheen. Seal with Americana Spray Sealers for added durability and outdoor exposure. Clean up with soap and water.

TIPS FOR METALLIC LUSTRE
When applying to dimensional surfaces, using a small stiff brush or stencil brush will make it easier to get into the crevices. Use a stencil brush and a swirling motion to stencil metallic designs on project surfaces. Buffing with a soft cloth increases the sheen.

NIce, but short shelf life

"These dry out way to quickly. Had the jar for 6 months and it's rock hard. Is there any way to revive them once they start to harden?"

Q&A

After Metallic Lustre has been applied to a season work surface (picture frames) is it susceptible to melting or running off during indoor summer heat in the mid 80 to 85 degrees?
Hi Dan, Metallic Lustre should be fine if fully cured.
I ordered two metallic lustre wax(iced espresso) through Amazon. They came dry, could it used it. I’m working on a project, want a metallic effect in that color. I want to order again, do you guarantee the wax will be manageable?
Hi Awilda, please email decoart@decoart.com about this Amazon order.
When I opened my metallic luster champagne I’ve it was hard as a rock. Can I revive it with water?
Hi Sallie, thanks for your question! To reconstitute Metallic Lustre, you can use boiled water and gently mix it in the pan with a fork, knife, or any other tool. Start with small amounts, and add as necessary.
My jars are all dry & hard as a rock. I tried water but that just creates a watercolor type consistency & doesn’t sink into the wax to soften it. What else can I do? They are just about 2 months old and they were sealed. Can I use heat to soften them with a heat gun?
Hi Julie, thank you for your question! We would recommend trying boiling water and adding very small amounts to the Metallic Lustre. Use a fork, knife or another tool to help reconstitute it.
What can I use to SLIGHTLY thin metalic lustre? Some of my colors have dried out a bit and don't spread well.
Thanks for your question. To slightly thin metallic lustre, add a few drops of water to the product and let it sit for about an hour.
