Q&A
- If poured into something that has walls on every side, like a shallow tray for instance or a bottle cap, will it become permanent once hardened? Meaning will it glue itself (for lack of a better term) to the inside of the item or will it eventually pop out?
- Hello! This products never really hardens completely. It will probably stick to the sides, as this is a great product for wall canvases etc.
- What is the difference between this product and Duraclear high gloss varnish? I noticed that it has to be poured on a surface and not brushed. Is the consistency similar?
- Hi Jenna! Thanks for your question. The main difference is that you can brush on DuraClear, while the Clear Pouring TopCoat is recommended to pour straight on your artwork. Another key difference is DuraClear can be used to varnishes outdoor pieces.
- Is this product heat resistant? If so, what is the maximum temperature it can tolerate?
- Hi Dale, thank you for your question. Clear Pouring Top Coat is not heat resistant.
- Is Clear Pouring Topcoat suitable for exterior applications?
- Hi Don, thank you for your question. We would not recommend Clear Pouring TopCoat to be used on outdoor/exterior projects. It is for indoor use only.
- Your clear pouring topcoat. Is it waterproof? And can I paint it on? Pouring it on seems like it could be messy and wasteful.
- Hi Douglas, thanks for your question. DecoArt Clear Pouring TopCoat is neither water-repellent or water-proof. We would not recommend painting it on, since its purpose is to be poured. If you would like a top coat or varnish you can paint on, we would recommend our DuraClear varnish.
