Description

About Americana Gel Stain -

Americana Gel Stains are perfect for producing antiqued or stained finishes on wood or other hard surfaces. Their thick and creamy consistency makes it easy to work without making a mess, and the water-based formula eliminates the fumes of typical oil-based products. This product works well on wood, ceramic bisque, paper mâché, resins, and plastercraft. To use for staining, apply Americana Gel Stain to surface and then wipe it down with a soft, lint-free cloth. For additional highlights, allow one hour drying time and then use a soft, damp cloth to add further stain. When using on wood, you can mix 25% Multi-Purpose Sealer with 75% Americana Gel Stain to seal and stain at the same time. For antiquing apply a thin coat of Americana Gel Stain and wipe off with a soft cloth before the stain can dry. Leave more of the stain in cracks and crevices.

Magical stain

"Very happy with this product!! I had black plastic bed frame legs and I wanted them to match the oak furniture in the room. I painted them with matte paint in a linen color and then used the gel stain In Oak on top of the paint. I brushed it on, lightly wiped off the excess, and then brushed with a dry brush. It is amazing how the legs now look like oak wood!"

Q&A

If I want a light stain on wood - do you suggest watering down this product? Thanks,Susan Savitt
Hi Susan, thank you for your question. We have not tested this in our lab or design studio. If you are to dilute it, we would recommend testing it on a small surface before committing to a full project.
