New Era - New You
Paint your way to a new era. Using bright colors, allow those loose, flowing paints to dance around on the canvas and create a new vibe for you. Working big can really be a practice in movement and connection to your body. Sometimes we can get stuck in our ways and need to break out of it. Life events happen, and you come to a crossroads to continue living in your present state or make the decision to take a new path. This project helps you explore exciting new ways to create.
Enter the flow state. Painting with broad strokes and movement of our body allows us to be mindful in the process. To personify your essence or "aura", use colors you are drawn to. Then using simple techniques with acrylic paint and water, you are able to create an abstract representation of yourself.

Supplies needed for this project:
Go with the flow. Mix acrylic paint with water to get a wash you can apply to the canvas quickly with large brushes. Allow to dry and add more opaque colors over the washes to add even more vibrancy and shapes. Fine-tune areas and edges with a smaller brush or leave areas loose and undefined.
Do paintings have personalities? This is an interesting approach. Get together with a group of friends and paint each other's "auras". Keep it personal by painting a different aura painting representing every "New Era" you encounter.
If you don't want to work large, you could get these explorations down on paper or in a journal. Don't be afraid to let the paint take you where it wants to go.
