DIY Painted Paper Plant
Need a plant to brighten your space, but have no luck in keeping one alive? Make your own paper plants to bring in that much needed dopamine. Using the new Americana Acrylic colors for 2025, you can get those colors flowing. This project is an easy way to explore your creativity while making something beautiful to decorate your surroundings. The process video gives wonderful tips on folding paper, painting with acrylics, and using easy techniques. Suggested supplies and products are listed to remove the guesswork. Create Your Favorite Plant
Gather your inspo, supplies, and pick your color palette. Print some pics of your favorite type of plants to have handy to reference. Cut basic leaf shapes from watercolor paper. Dip each leaf in water and form. Allow to dry and begin painting! Have fun exploring color mixing and creating textures on your leaves. Add colors onto leaves mixing them on the surface. Get creative in your color placement- you are creating a whole new plant species! Allow basecoat colors to dry and then paint on details with a liner brush. Allow to dry completely, and then hot glue some floral wire to stick into a foam ball. Find the perfect container or pot to house your plant and finish with some rocks and moss.
Don't forget - just have fun! There is no right or wrong, when you are making something that makes you happy.
