DIY Rage Box
No Chill?
We all have those days when we are on edge and need to relax. Something happens, and your anger, anxiety, and stress levels are overcrowding your joy. It is good to have something tangible to focus on when you need to calm down. This collage box project is perfect to hold all of the tools to get back to the present and soothe your emotions. You can create this project when you are calm and have it ready when the storm hits, or you can work through the negative emotions by focusing on the process of making it with your hands.

Supplies needed for this project:

Find the visuals that symbolize your rage for when you can't find the words. Pinterest is a great platform to find imagery to print out for your box. Cut them all out and add your own painted images or brushstrokes to embody your emotion.

Paint your emotions. Paint the outside of the box a color that symbolizes rage for you, and then collage imagery all around the outside. For the inside, choose a color that symbolizes calm. Allow to dry. Cut out your images and decoupage them onto the box. Allow to dry before adding contents.
Think about the things you love and are grateful for. When you start to fill your box, add things that will interact with all of your senses. It is good to have a written list of things to do, because it is hard to think in a moment of stress. Have a picture of a beloved person or fur baby to remind you of love. Have music or sound ready to go with a playlist and headphones to steady your nervous system. Include a journal to write out all of your thoughts so they are not taking up space in your mind. Some other things to add that help your nervous system: a sachet of lavender or some essential oils, a stress ball to squeeze, and some sour snacks. If you find something doesn't work, take it out and add what does work for you!
